October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came-
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.
Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly "hands around."

I stopped by your blog to verify that you were still hosting your Friday "theme day".
In case you aren't sure why I would do that, please first go here: http://thehousethatlovebuilt.xanga.com/712911712/today--/
and then read this one:

From what I could see, you are no longer hosting yours. Are my findings correct? Either way, PLEASE let me know via: pink bunnies (at) sbc global (dot) net
THANKS!!!

Hi Deborah, I love this poem. Somehow I got disconnected from you when I redid my blogroll so I signed up to follow you again. :) Lynn
I haven't seen a good Fall since I went to a conference in Boston one October many years ago. We just don't have things like that in Hawaii. Shucks.
Hello Deborah, I am so sorry I haven't visited you in such a long time. I know you have slowed down in posting and I am guilty of just forgetting to come over. Please forgive me my dear blogging friend. I would never want you to think I do not care.
I love your October poem. I love the month of October so much and always have. It is the time of year that is the start of all the seasonal activities. The season of fun.
I hope you and your family are well and enjoying life in general. I have been visiting our dtr in Jacksonville for the last 10 days. Before that I had 20 days of company. Visiting has been hard for me with my crazy busy life.
Thinking of you and the wonderful times we have been able to see each other. I hope we can again.
Love and hugs xoxo, Jeanne
Happy Fall back at ya!
