My great grandmother Emma with my maternal grandmother Clara. This photo was taken around 1897.
(Around 1899)
Granny lost her mother when she was just two years old and lost her father at eight years old.
At fifteen years old Granny worked in a bakery. She was either trained well in the art of baking or it came naturally to her. I believe she must have baked loaves of bread, cakes, rolls and pies every day of her life with the exception of when she was having children.
She was one of the most loving women I have ever known. If I am half the grandmother that she was, I will have done well.
I have some friends who want to share their photos with you today. Stop by their blogs and say "Hello".

Deborah you have the nicest pictures of your family members. My grandmother was raised by her grandmother. Her mother died when she was two. You speak so lovingly of your grandmother. I sure you are just as loving as she was!
take care,
Dawn

Wonderful pictures Deborah - makes one's heart sing when we look back at these loved family members, especially the 'grandmas'!!!!
Take care - I'm thinking of you!

Deborah, I love this photo of your great grandmother with your Grannie. She is very pretty. Gosh, how sad that your Grannie lost her parents so young. I am 'positive' you are the best grandma ever. Your photo's are a wonderful treasure.
Christmas love to you and I hope you are feeling better today.
Hugs...Jeanne

Another beautiful tribute in photos and words Deborah. Thanks for sharing.
You should be in bed girlfriend.
I'm posting soon also. Was gone out with the daughter tonight... OMG another story.
I'm getting my pinks together now, taking pictures, petting the cat and hopping around Foto Friday.
It's quiet and I'm always listening to my music. Let me know if you want some pointers and where to find them. I love "Petit Papa Noel". It was one of my favorites as a child... actually still is.
I''ll wait up if you do?
Claudie
I WILL COME TO SEE CELINE!!!!
