~Corps de Ballet~

This Saturday I wanted to show you this pink ballerina. She was to be used as a door draft blocker, but I thought her too pretty to be used for that. This doll is actually my daughter's, given to her by her great aunt who was a dancer. Since Leah has two little boys, she can't use this in her home, so here it is at Mama's.

I've always loved ballerinas both on stage and in art. The one below is "Dancers in Pink", 1876. It was painted by one of my favorite ballerina painters, Edgar Degas.

Another of my favorite ballerina painters is my artist cousin, Rhonda Hartis Smith Please take a minute to visit her and look midway down her sidebar to see her "Beautiful Ballerinas" slideshow.

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY TO YOU ALL!

I love your doll stop and she looks so pretty on the bed. She also looks like she would hang off of the knob too. I have a pattern to make a bunny door stop that also hangs. Your painting done by Degas is gorgeous. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

Loving those ballerinas. For my very first Pink Saturday post, I did a blog on my four-year old daughter's pink ballet slippers.

Feel free to drop by for a visit and take a peek. You can find it in my archives under the Pink Saturday label.

Blessings to you from Kansas,
Valerie

Oh, you're right! She is far too pretty to use on the floor as a draft protector. I also love Degas. Nobody painted ballerinas like he did.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Great goodies you're sharing! Don't you just ♥ Pink Saturday? This is the one day that I get to totally indulge myself, get all girlie, drink tea with cream, and share time with friends on the internet.

Went out to dinner with friends, so I'm a little late, but better late than never, right? I wish you a Sunday filled with family, l♥ve, sunshine and peace.

Hello from Hot Florida. I'm actually using Deb's computer. Well it took us 2 full long days to get here. We arrived Sat evening around 9pm, tired, exhausted, hungry. The beauty was when we hit West Virginia...OMG the blossoms are to die for very lush shrubs took my breath away. The bad part was the traffic coming in from 95 going the other way. We are going to have to go home on the 75 which would take one whole day longer. So...we found Corey a place late yesterday and now we wait. I have adopted Corey's little baby puppy. An 14 week old Shit-zu (how ever you spell it). I know I know another dog, but it had to be. He is overwhelmed right now with 2 dogs and no room where he is in a mess, and moving on top of everything else. Ok so here's the scoop...not sure what the hell is going to happen now. If this deal falls through we are having to start all over again. Now Deb is thinking of getting Bill to fly in and help Corey move ( he's very unorganized) Corey not Bill. I will keep you posted and I will try so hard to see you, especially going 75 not 95. We were on 81, 77 to 95 so no where near you at all. It will add an extra day, but, we would go through Detroit and stop in to see my mom in Windsor. So I'm really not sure what is going to happen but will keep you posted.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my toes.
AAHHH I missed a pink post...love yours as always.
You can always send a comment to my blog. I'm so tired, I don't even check my emails...but I will try.
I love YOUUUUU
Love Cluudie

We are on our way home. We are in Columbia, N.C. or is it S.C.
I will not get to see you and OMG I think the train tracks are right next door...yes the building is shaking and the train is going by...holy cow..another sleepless night. I feel like poop.
Ok I shoud be home Thursday. I think you'll still be home or not...Oh I'm so lost, you have no idea.
Please email me. I will get it on the road...I hope.
I sent you a little something in the mail (things I wanted to hand deliver) you should get it in 4 days.
I love you and I'm soooooo sorry I won't get to hug you... yet...watch out.
Love Ya
