~Images from the Past~

This Friday, I'll show you my great-grandparents on my father's side of the family.

Don't they look to be straight out of a old western?

Thomas Andrew White and Sarah Jane Hartis

This is where Thomas (1838-1918) and Sarah Jane (1843-1912) lived in Rochester, Kentucky. This looks like another scene from an old movie - complete with the blacksmith shop.

Thomas died from heart failure. Sarah Jane died from food poisoning.
I visited Rochester. Of course, the old house was gone, but I did get to see their gravesite in an old cemetery up on a hill under an very large magnolia tree.

Hello Deborah, I love your photos you share. Your family history is recorded with the most awesome photos.
Beverly and I were talking and we both said the same thing. Your photos and stories are the best.

I'll be back to sign in when my post is up.

I will go over to wish Claudie happy anniversary. She has been on a bloggy break so I haven't been there this week. I do love her blog and her too.

Love ya...Jeanne

They do look like they are from the Old West! It sounds like they are in a beautiful place of rest, under that Magnolia.

Hi Deborah,

I can't believe these two had any pictures of them made. Amazing, so this is what my great-great-great-grandparents looked like. I guess we're cousins of some sort. My name is Ryan Jones, and I am related to these two through a son they had, Wesley Luther White. I am 24 and live in Owensboro Kentucky.
Do you know of Thomas White's parents or have birth or death records of either Thomas or Sarah? I have heard rumours through my grandmother that Thomas was part Native Amercan, but I doubt it, thinking more likely that he was mostly English or something. Thank you for any information you can give me.

Ryan
