DRINKIN’ FROM A MASON JAR

Drinkin’ from a Mason jar

shows where you’re from and who you are.

You know you’re from the South

when those ringed rims touch your mouth.

You know a true Southerner you are

when you drink your sweet tea from a jar.

Fill it to the top with ice -

fresh made Luzianne - that’s my advice!

Sitting on a white painted porch in mid-July,

sun is high and you’re feeling dry.

Sipping on tart lemonade

with crushed cold ice and in a Mason jar made.

The genteel gents with the Southern drawl

drink the perfect Mint Julep made without a flaw.

Crushed mint leaves, sugar, bourbon and brandy,

ten days in a turned over Mason jar makes it just dandy.

Drinkin’ from a Mason jar

shows where you’re from and who you are.

You know you’re from the South

when those ringed rims touch your mouth.
