~POETRY ANYONE?~

Do you enjoy reading rhyming words, free verse, the words of another's heart and imagination? I do and I enjoy writing poetry - rhyming or not.

Up until lately, I had to say that I was not a published poet, but now I can say that I have published writings!

I was offered a merit-based scholarship a little over a year ago to be part of a group of unknown and for the most part, unpublished writers. There would be thirteen of us, making up The Baker's Dozen. We were to submit already written works to be made into our own mini book and compiled to make up
THE BAKER'S DOZEN
The Cole Foundation Collection: Volume II
.

Our volume of mini-books is now available at:

Barnes and Noble.com

AND

Amazon.com

AND

Authorhouse.com

For those of you who do enjoy poetry, I'm having a giveaway!

I'm giving away a copy of THE BAKER'S DOZEN to one person.

Leave a comment at this post and in about a week I will choose randomly from among the comments. To make this just a little more inviting, along with the book will come a Vera Bradley candle to enjoy while reading.

If you are not a blogger, don't forget to leave an email address.

Oh! Congratulations! This is a wonderful thing! So far, my only claim to print has been a poem I wrote in one of th Chicken Soup For the Soul books! But since I got paid, does that count as being published? I hope so! : )
You should be so proud...congratulations again!
Hugs,
Sue

Thank you for visiting my blog and inviting me to stop here. I love poetry but have never tried to write any myself. It must be wonderful to be able to express yourself in that way. I'd love to enter your drawing.

A picture may be worth a thousand words, but lovely words goes straight to the heart. Your beautiful poetry does just that!

How wonderful to have your thoughts
available for all
So like spring times little birds
who visit us and then enthrall
Leaving images in our minds to flutter
Wiping out a dreary days clutter.

How exciting! You can tell I'd never get a merit based scholarship LOL...I am impressed and happy for you. (())

Well I think I'd rather have a copy of your book than the red Mustang - I can snuggle up in my duvet with hort chocolate and enjoy reading your poems - much nicer than driving out in this cold weather!!

Deborah - have a great time with Leah - I'll e-mail you later.
Hugs - take care - Mary.
