~My Charmed Life~

"I have memories from near and far.
For each of these I have a star.
To remember my life's times
I began a band of jingling chimes.
Each shining charm of gold
holds a story to be told."ⓒ

Charm bracelets ~ how I love them! I love the soft jingle-jangle sounds they make, the significance of each tiny work of art, the memories each one brings to mind. Charms are added to my bracelets for each state we visit, for each place we visit on our travels afar and each grandchild that comes along. Special charms are added for family members that were so dear to me.
(from CHARMED BRACELETS by Tracey Zabar)

My first charm bracelet with three silver charms was given to me by a high school beau when I was a senior. That would make it 45 years old. The friendship didn't last, but have I gotten mileage out of that bracelet!

This is my gold charm bracelet...a mix of 14K and 18K golds. I began it when I became a grandmother. At the same time I started one for my granddaughter when she was born. I don't know how many more charms this one will hold.

"I have traveled lands to see the sights
and brought back little sparking lights.
I plucked a star from here and there.
I hope to have one from everywhere.

I traveled lands near and far
from each of those I took a star,
twinkling and shining bright.
Welcome to my charmed life."ⓒ

"With these trinkets I fondly hold
my family there amongst the gold.
There is Daddy's beloved mandolin
and his guitar that so pleased him.

Here are baby shoes for my girls,
a little locket for their curls,
a towering lighthouse for my brother,
an artist's palette for the other.

For my mother, a beautiful "A",
an "I Love You" for my soul mate.
A hive here, a honeybee there -
symbols of my given name fair.

A little miss with a great big bow,
my sweet granddaughter, don't you know.
Little boys with baseball caps -
they are my grandsons - happy chaps.

Here is one that I treasure dear.
It holds the name I love to hear.
The heart inscribed "Grandma"
for that is what I am called."ⓒ

"See this little basket of my favorite roses,
a Faberge' egg that opens and closes,
a lock to hold this strand together,
a sapphire key to lock it forever."ⓒ

Not long ago, I began another silver bracelet. I have charms that have not been added yet.

Awesome! I wish I had a gold charm bracelet as well as my silver. Don't you love it when they are so full and weigh a ton!

Thanks for posting!

~~Liz ~~

PS I have a couple of the same Judith Ripka charms that you have.
Isn't her stuff to die for!

Wow, you have quite a few charms. I think that bracelet must be a bit heavy when you wear it! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Deborah, it seems like a long time ago since I have visited or made a comment. It is one week tomorrow since I had the surgery. This week has been a blur. I thought you were out of town again. I have a poodle charm pin. I could have a charm poodle bracelet, I have many little sterling charm poodles.

I love all of your charms. I did the closeup thing so I could study them. The photo charms are really special. The poem is beautiful. Deborah, you are a charming and sweet person. You have a beautiful heart. I hope we can meet again to share more about ourselves as a person. Your trip is right around the corner. Are you getting more excited to go? I know you will have a wonderful time.

I am getting better each day and by the time you have returned all will be well. I hope. smile.

Love and hugs, Jeanne

Deborah, What a delightful post. I still have my charm bracelet from high school and I am going to get it out and look at it today. And you have inspired me to start one for my grand-daughter. Thank you ~ Lynn

What a lovely post, Deborah. I have a thing for charmed bracelets as well. I treasure some antique heart charms engraved with the names of soldiers off to war in WWII and I even have a hand made linked sterling wire charm bracelet. I've always intended to duplicate the bracelet - it's just so lacy and intricate and substantial. But I never get around to it. Love this post!

I recognize one of your silver charms that is exactly like one on my Mom's bracelet. It is the little birdhouse. Just love your bracelets.

Thanks for saying hello this morning. That ice cream trip was just as it happened. LOL

I am feeling lots better and anxious to get this recovery stuff over with.
