~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My first time really "out" after being sick for two weeks in December of 2006 was New Year's Eve. Our family went to see our Carolina Hurricanes play. I love my Canes! Hubby, myself, two daughters and their hubbies and my brother and his wife all went together. Sadly our Canes lost, but what fun we had. Our kids treated us to club seats as our anniversary gift which had been December 29th.
Our daughters kept telling us to hold onto our tickets as this New Year's Eve they would be posting ticket numbers to win big money on the Jumbotron. Right after the first period there was a wedding on the ice! ...a real wedding! What Cane's fans will do! Meanwhile I kept my ticket in sight and kept telling everyone I talked to to watch the board - they were giving up to $10,000 tonight!
After the second period I let my mind wander and daughter came to stand behind us. She said, "Mother are you looking at the board?!"
I looked up and gasped, nearly losing my breath! Then I jumped up from my seat and started screaming and yelling - "That's me! That's me! Larry...that's us! Look! Look!" I was a crazy woman!
No we didn't win money. The Jumbotron was all lit up. On all four sides it read,
"Happy 42nd Anniversary Larry and Deborah!"
What a surprise! After I settled down I heard someone behind us say "That must be Larry and Deborah". Duh!
This is a picture that I will always have to remember that wedding anniversay by. This year in December, we will have been married forty-four years! How could that be? I'm only 35! Teehee!
I love this story, Deborah. Actually, I always love the stories you share.
We're big Canes fans, too. You see the best things up in the bright lights. ;-)
Deborah, I absolutely love your beautiful anniversary story. How did you get that photo of the sign? Your children are pretty special people.
Thank you for your sweet comments on the surgery. I appreciate your concern very much. I will be fine I'm sure. I just have to go through the recovery. I don't think it will be real easy, but definitely worth all the trouble.
Love and hugs, Jeanne
