~Pink Sweetness~

I don't believe I will ever see the color PINK again without thinking of BEVERLY, our sweet PINK SATURDAY hostess.

Thank you for the PINK SATURDAYS, Beverly!

Cotton Candy or Fairy Floss as it is called in Australia...sticky and sweet, melts with the touch of the tongue...who can resist this pink, wispy, fluffy, spun, sugary confection? Not I!

I happened upon this man spinning
Fairy Floss in Sydney.

You must know who and what I thought of when
I saw this display of pink fluff ...

Cotton Candy Sugar Cookies..."literally melt in your mouth making them the best sugar cookies"
from Carroll Pellegrinelli, About.com Desserts and Baking Guide

Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
4-1/4 cups flour
Extra sugar for pressing cookies - colored sugar can be used for holidays

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cream together the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, butter, and cooking oil. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients, (the next four ingredients) and mix to incorporate. Roll dough into small balls about the size of a quarter. With a heavy bottomed crystal vase with a decorative bottom, or other cookie press, dip in sugar to coat well. Smash each ball of dough so they are spread out and flat. Leaving an imprint and sugar. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10 minutes, until the edges just start to turn slightly brown. Do not bake too long. Cool sugar cookies on the baking sheet briefly then transfer to wire rack to cool the rest of the way.

Mmmmmmmmmm, *pink* cotton candy! I haven't had it for a while, but fortunately, if I get a hankering for it, we can get some at our local farmer's market on Fridays! They have a stand there every week. I just may have to get some next Friday! tee hee!

Those cookies sound delicious too! I may have to whip up a batch of them!

Suddenly, I MUST have something sweet!

I absolutely love cotton candy. Always have. Probably it being pink has something to do with it, because I have eaten it in other colors - not nearly as good. I like calling it fairy floss.

Fairy Floss- That is a much better name for the wonderful concoction than cotton candy. Happy Pink Saturday.( p.s.- do fairies have tooth decay if they floss with it? I bet more people would floss if they could use fairy floss!:)

Deborah, another busy day with my cousin. She is leaving in the morning. I am doing well but therapy is still needed very much.

I would have loved going to SuZanna's with you and the girls. If only I lived closer. sigh.

Your cotton candy AKA fairy floss looks so good. I am amused at the name the Australians give to cotton candy. That made a very clever pink post. I love it too, but all that sugar, I wouldn't eat it either.

Love and hugs...Jeanne

Good morning Deborah, I will be posting a favorite photo on Friday. How are you doing? I am sure you are still busy getting back to "normal" after your long trip. This is the first morning I do not have company to feed. I loved the company, but it is a nice feeling to just sit here and have my coffee with out thinking about what to fix for breakfast.

Have a wonderful day, Jeanne
